Our History

In 2006 the Angmering Parish Council commissioned the design of a public building to be used as Community Centre, which would be sited on the designated land on the newly built Bramley Green estate.

In September 2007, a group of volunteer residents came together at the invitation of the Angmering Parish Council to form a Management Association to manage the proposed facility.

The Angmering Community Centre Association was established in February 2008 when a Constitution was adopted. Charitable Status followed in July 2008 and the Managing Association members became Trustees. The Centre was commissioned and is owned by the Parish Council and is leased to the Association Trust.

The Centre building was designed to be energy efficient and to that end has a large array of solar panels providing free electricity for the Centre and the excess is sold back to the grid.

The building was handed over to the Trust on 29th September 2009 and the first activities at the Centre commenced on 3rd October 2009.

The Centre has been extremely successful in attracting users and offering an ever-increasing range of activities. As a measure of its continuing success a Manager was appointed in November 2019 to run the Centre and assist the Trustees in its future development.

During the Covid pandemic of 2020 and associated lockdowns, the Centre was closed to hirers and throughout the first half of 2021 was used as a major vaccination centre.
